Contemporary Management of Urethral Stricture (Vol 4, No 1, February 2015)

Together with a group of international experts from different perspectives of Urology, The Guest Editors Prof. Jay Simhan from Fox Chase/Einstein Urologic Institute and Prof. Allen F. Morey from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center have launched a special issue on Contemporary Management of Urethral Stricture in February 2015.

We begin with a review of imaging modalities utilized to diagnose and stratify patients with urethral strictures. Armed with a detailed portrayal of the picture, we then explore the diverse applications of buccal mucosa grafting in complex urethral reconstruction. Management of the devastated urethra is divided into several important topics, including a new technique for perineal urethrostomy, prevention of urethral stricture after artificial urinary sphincter cuff erosion, and management of refractory incontinence men with refractory stricture.
