Explore the application value of RevoLix2 micron laser systems in urology. Assess its safety and effectiveness, summarized the application experience and skills.

The clinical data of urological patients who had undergone the surgery of RevoLix2 micron laser systems in the second artillery general hospital from May 2011 to January 2012 were retrospectively analyzed: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) (57 cases), BPH and bladder stones (7 cases), bladder cancer (23 cases), ureteral tumors (2 cases), bladder stones (1 cases), ureteral calculi (3 cases), renal calculi (2 cases), ureterocele (1 cases). Treatment and follow-up efficacy evaluation were observed.

In 57 cases of BPH group, the intraoperative blood loss was 10-30 mL, there were no postoperative bleeding, perforation of the bladder, the prostate capsule perforation and stricture urethra in surgery, Qmax from the preoperative (5.1 ± 2.3) mL increased to (17.6 ± 1.2) mL/s (P <0.05), IPSS (24.2 ± 3.2) and QOL (7.5 ± 2.4) points decreased to (4.5 ± 0.2) (2.2 ± 0.2) points (P <0.05); In 7 cases of BPH and bladder stones group, the operation time was from 35 to 72 minutes, time of lithotripsy was from 13 to 37 minutes, time of laser vaporization from 22 to 56 minutes. after review, no residual stones, stone clearance rate was 100%; In 23 cases of bladder tumor group, the wound in all patients basal and wound edge pathological examination showed no residual tumor and bladder perforation, operation time was 25-42 min, average of 32 min. follow-up in 3 months, three cases of recurrence (13.04%); In 2 cases of ureteral tumor group, time of laser vaporization from was 21 to 32 min, average time was 21 min, a margin of pathological examination show there was no residual tumors, there was no ureteral perforation, Follow-up in 3 months, there was no recurrence; In 7 cases of urinary calculi group, six cases were successful, stone clearance rate was 85.7% ,one cases of ureteral calculi lithotripsy was failed, In 1 cases of ureterocele group, cyst excision was completed, no significant bleeding, follow-up in 3 months, there was no recurrence.

RevoLix2-micron laser system as a new generation of laser, the power was controlled from 0 to 120W. The energy of laser conduction through the delicate optical fiber, the applications in surgery within urology cavity was efficient and accurate. The treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia was intraoperative, there were less complications in intraoperative and postoperative, the quality of life was significantly improved. Short term efficacy in the treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder tumors and ureteral tumors were satisfactory. The treatment of urinary stones and cystic lesions was feasible, safe and effective minimally invasive surgical approach.
