Dr. Michael Rink is an Associate Professor of Urology at the Department of Urology, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) in Hamburg, Germany. He is national and European board certified in Urology. Dr. Rink works at the Department of Urology at UKE and is consultant urologist at the Martini Clinic, Prostate Cancer Center, at UKE in Hamburg. He studied medicine at the University of Münster, Germany and completed his residency at the Department of Urology at University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany in 2012. From 2011 to 2012 Dr. Rink completed an uro-oncologic research fellowship at the Brady Urologic Center of the Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY, USA.
Dr. Rink’s main research interests are urothelial carcinoma of the upper and lower tract as well as renal cell carcinoma and prostate cancer. In these fields he conducts research on fundamental biologic and prognostic markers with translational outcomes. He has participated in several clinical trials as principle- or sub- investigator. In addition, he is involved in numerous national and international multiinstitutional clinical research studies.
Dr. Rink received several national and international awards and honors. He authored and coauthored over 200 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals as well as over 10 book chapters. In addition, he is reviewer for several urologic and oncologic journals and is an Editorial Board member in some highly respected journals.
Dr. Rink is a member of national and international scientific societies including the European and American Association of Urology. He currently sits on the boards of some non-profit societies.
