They are most commonly located in the head and neck, or extremities, less commonly in the mediastinum, retroperitoneum, and very rarely in the pelvis (2,3). A number of familial syndromes are associated with increased risk for schwannoma, including Neurofibromatosis type II, Schwannomatosis, or Carney complex (1).
