A multi-omics approach to understanding the field effect in bladder cancer

Abstract

The field effect in cancer is a phenomenon that describes histologically normal-appearing tissue surrounding or adjacent to a neoplasm that can give rise to additional neoplastic lesions. Bladder cancer has a high rate of recurrence and the development of multifocal lesions is common.
